But in October 2025, the focus shifted sharply to emotional intelligence and resilience as the Niraivagam – Don Bosco Institute of Psychological Services successfully concluded its ground breaking Inter-School Mental Health Awareness Quiz Competition 2025. Far from being a niche event, this quiz proved that for today’s students, knowledge about the mind is just as crucial as academic achievement. It wasn't just a competition; it was a movement.
Under the dynamic leadership of Fr. Ravi Aruldass SDB, Director of Niraivagam, and Fr. Yacop SDB, Assistant Director and Quiz Master for the Zonal events, the competition was meticulously structured to ensure wide regional impact. The month of October where World Mental Health Day is observed on 10th Oct., transformed into a crucial awareness drive, spanning four key regions: Vellore (Oct 23), Pondicherry (Oct 27), Tirupattur (Oct 28), and Chennai (Oct 30). A phenomenal total of 34 schools enthusiastically participated, a figure that powerfully reflects the growing recognition among educational institutions that mental health literacy is non-negotiable. This wasn't merely a testament to Niraivagam’s organizing prowess, but a strong signal from the student community that they are ready to talk openly about anxiety, coping mechanisms, and emotional well-being.
The success of such a large-scale, multi-zonal event relies on synergy, and Niraivagam extended its deepest gratitude to the Salesian communities and partner institutions that served as welcoming hosts. Our heartfelt thanks go to the respective host schools: Don Bosco Mat. Hr. Sec. School, Vellore; Don Bosco Mat. Hr. Sec. School, Pondicherry; Don Bosco School of Excellence (CBSE), Tirupattur; and St. Mary’s A.I. Hr. Sec. School, Broadway. The top three schools from each zone were rightfully honoured with Certificates of Excellence, while every participating school received a Certificate of Participation, celebrating their effort and commitment.

The culmination of this incredible journey is set for November 4, 2025, where the winners from all four zones will converge for the Grand Finale at the prestigious Don Bosco School of Excellence (CBSE), Egmore. This final showdown promises to be the crowning moment for the year's mental health awareness drive, inspiring even more schools and students to join the movement in future editions.
